A catalyst for change

The Government is rolling out one of the toughest programmes of public sector spending cuts on record and these are increasingly starting to take their toll on public sector organisations. Pressures to reduce spending have increasingly drawn the attention to the need to maximise back office savings and improve IT efficiency opportunities, both of which will be crucial if local government is to meet its spending targets in a managed and sustainable manner. The benefits to be derived from outsourcing IT are far greater than costs alone, and such a move can create opportunities to act as a catalyst for change within an organisation.
