Social enterprises in the healthcare sector will need more support if they are to succeed, according to a new report by the King's Fund. The report called on NHS commissioners to offer more long-term contracts, cut red tape and speed up decision-making in order to help social enterprises establish themselves in the sector. It found that despite government hopes for 'the largest and most vibrant social enterprise sector in the world', the number of NHS staff leaving to form co-operatives remained relatively small.
