Chiefs agree to publish spending details

Nottingham City Council chiefs this week dismissed daims they have 'backtradced' in ditching the authority's refusal to comply with finandal transparency thresholds. Since ministers first pushed for voluntary transparency measures in 2010, Nottingham has been alone among English authorities in failing to comply with requests to publish details of all spending worth £500 or more.
