Bromley in 'blackmail' row over staff contracts

Bromley LBC has hit back at trade union claims it is blackmailing staff into accepting new contracts.The regional branch officer of Unite, Onay Kasnab, said 'threats' to 'sack' 500 workers unless they signed new contracts by 23 April 'smacks of blackmail'.But council leader, Cllr Stephen Carr,said the trade union claim that staff who reject the new contracts will be dismissed is 'false'.
