Scots urged to improve social care commissioning

Audit Scotland has urged the country's councils and NHS boards to improve the commissioning of social care, amid rising demand and tighter budget constraints.According to Accounts Commission chair, John Baillie, Scotland's councils - which spend £3bn a year on social care - risk concentrating resources on people who need intensive support at the expense of those who require only a small amount of help to live independently.
