Lewis hints at variable council tax threshold

Local government minister Brandon Lewis has given his biggest hint yet that there will not be a single council tax referendum threshold. In a Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) teleconference this week, Mr Lewis suggested the limits could be varied according to authority. He said: 'There is a precedent for different levels. We are looking at that at the moment.'
