Poor diet and obesity has replaced smoking as the greatest public health challenge, according to NHS England chief Simon Stevens. Speaking at a 'health lab' event organised by innovation foundation Nesta he said that the 'H' in NHS 'stands for health, not healthcare' and that in the past decade there had been a 44% drop in the chance of dying from heart attack or stroke.
