'Unsustainable' contract ended

A social enterprise is to hand back an 'unsustainable' residential care contract to Bath & North East Somerset Council. In a joint statement with Sirona Care & Health, the council said it was 'saddened' to have been given notice to terminate the contract in a year's time. The council owns the three community resource centres affected in Bath, Midsomer Norton and Keynsham, with Virgin Care acting for the council as contract managers. Sirona employs 280 staff and provides 105 care home beds across the three sites.
