Councils' quest for new chiefs

The three councils which make up the flagship tri-borough partnership lost their chief executives when they both announced their departure earlier this week, within moments of each other.Derek Myers and Mike More, who between them run the three authorities, have announced they will step down at the end of the year.It leaves several London boroughs looking to recruit a chief at the same time, with Barnet LBC advertising in The MJ this week, and interim chiefs in place at Brent, Croydon and Tower Hamlets.The tri-borough councils have confirmed they will keep the remaining balance, with a single chief executive running Westminster City Council, while Kensington and Chelsea and Hammersmith and Fulham double up with a joint chief.
