£300m grant details 'delayed by Whitehall gerrymandering'

The Government is dragging its feet over providing key details about how an extra £300m transitional grant was allocated, a senior councillor has claimed. Nottingham City Council deputy leader, Cllr Graham Chapman, who has submitted a number of Freedom of Information Act (FoI) requests on the issue, said the Government was 'still refusing to provide key details' about the allocation. Cllr Chapman, who spoke out after The MJ revealed the National Audit Office was poised to probe the transitional funding arrangements, said: 'It's not acceptable that despite weeks of waiting the Government is still not providing the model and the calculations for how it distributed this money.
