I'm not one for looking back at what could have been but I do regret not having the foresight to snap up a 1275cc Mk1 Cooper S when they were more affordable. Although I'd like a stable of various Mini types in my dream garage, to me the 1275 Mk1 S is the ultimate Mini. Like many, my Mini career started off with a cheap runaround that I modified to the max but trends change and now the Mini is at last respected as a bonafide classic car. Ian Corkill is a sensible chap and he has had the 1275 Mk1 S on this issue's cover restored to a fantastic standard. By looking after these cars and bringing them back to their former glory people like Ian are preserving them for future generations.
