The newly refurbished British Motor Museum at Gaydon, formerly the Heritage Motor Museum, was opened to the public on 13 February. The new Collections Centre was also opened, housing around 150 cars from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Reserve Collection and 100 cars from the Jaguar Heritage Trust. The museum's refurbishment cost £1.1m and the Collections Centre totalled £4m. Grants were received from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Jaguar Land Rover, The Garfield Weston Foundation as well as both Trusts. The museum and the grounds have received a make-over. The interior of the museum now looks much lighter and brighter, with cars laid out in categories, such as Motorsport, Prototypes and Sports Cars rather than by make and model.
