It's amazing how early childhood memories stick with you. In Alex Lee's case, watching a TV programme about police, set in the 1960s, led to his love of Minis and an early career as a Police Mechanic. "I was employed by Surrey Police. I didn't go and nick people but I did go out in the police cars daily. If there was a big event we would go, in case one of the cars broke down, so we were quite involved. We also used to bolt all the blue lights on and and put all the livery on them when they were new."
