I am a Brit living in Denmark where there is a huge Mini Scene. I moved here 21 years ago when my daughter from my first marriage was only five. I had a 1976 Mini that I bought in 1988.1 was its second owner. I drove it all the way to Denmark in 1999 and it just lived in my garage and I maintained it and started it up now and again to keep it in good fettle. The Mini has never been welded and it was in its original paint which was a BMC paint but unmatchable to their paint codes. It was painted when all the strikes were going on and the quality control was non-existent! The only thing I had done was to replace the clutch as it was an elderly man that had owned it from new. The car had only done 17,000 miles from new and it was from 1976. Today it has just covered over 20.000 miles. Which is rare for a car of this age.
