AF&PA's Capacity Survey Predicts: Paper Capacity Growth Slows Through 2007

The U.S. paperboard and paper industry will see very little growth in capacity into 2005-2007 period, according to the latest capacity report by the American Forest & Paper Association. AF&PA's 45th Annual Capacity survey forecasts that U.S. paperboard and paper capacity will expand at a average annual rate of 0.3 percent for the 2005-2007 period. The report noted that only one new machine is included in the survey projection period: a tissue machine slated to come online during the fourth quarter of 2005.
