Total U.S.paper and paperboard capacity dropped below 100 million tpy last year for the first time since 1996 and will settle around 97 million tpy in the next three years,the American Forest & Paper Assn.said last Friday in its annual survey report.U.S.paper and paperboard capacity totaled nearly 99.3 million tpy last year,will fall to almost 97.3 million tpy this year,and total almost 97.5 million tpy and 97.8 million tpy in 2007 and 2008,respectively.
