Export demand for Old Corrugated Containers (OCC) is sizzling, due to increased demand and availability of shipping containers, report RM sources.rn"Since last week, OCC exports have gone up. It's been a double whammy for OCC with the Chinese New Year coming up and improving conditions with shipping containers," said one scrap fiber broker based in the Midwest. "Export OCC prices out of the Midwest are going for about $140-$145 per ton. As a result, there have been a lot of calls from domestic suppliers looking for material. There will be significant price increases for domestic OCC in order to match export demand," he added.
