Single-use food, beverage and product packaging all have a long way to go in regards to recycling and recyclability, according to two environmental groups. "Waste and Opportunity 2015," a new report from As You Sow and the Natural Resources Defense Council, analyzed the packaging practices of 47 fast food chains, beverage companies, and consumer goods and grocery companies, and found that none are doing enough to make their packaging more sustainable. "Our major finding is that leading fast-food, beverage and package goods companies are coming up significantly short of where they should be, when it comes to addressing the environmental aspects of packaging," Conrad MacKerron, Sr. Vice President of As You Sow and author of the report, said in a press conference held last month.
