Oregon Sees Energy Savings From Recycling

Oregon continues to see sizable energy savings and greenhouse gas reductions thanks to efforts in the state to recover materials for recycling, composting and burning for energy, noted the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (ORDEQ). These findings and numerous facts about the state's waste generation and recovery of materials are in the 2014 Oregon Material Recovery and Waste Generation Rates Report.The report lists material recovery rates for 35 waste-sheds, which consist of 33 counties, one municipality (Milton-Freewater) and the Portland metro area (Clackamas, Mult-nomah and Washington counties).
