Sustainable Food and Farming Minister Lord Rooker was on hand to officially open the new Wiseman processing facility and he acknowledged the role the company has played in delivering the milk industry 'road map'. He added that the facility was "probably the biggest and most significant investment in the dairy sector in recent years." "I want to thank Robert Wiseman for their part in the team that put together the milk road map which is designed to reduce the environmental impact of the industry." Many industries, he said, have their road maps but the dairy sector was the first one to be up and running and Bridgwater represented Robert Wiseman Dairies' practical contribution to the road map in terms of reducing environmental impact. "An important point is that everywhere I go in the food industry, where they are measuring waste and reducing it, is that I'm told it just wasn't done in the past but that reducing waste affects the bottom line.
