Health and safety messages hit home

Around 50 members and non-members alike attended a Dairy UK seminar in April to discuss health and safety in the dairy supply chain.rnThe key message to emerge from the event was that good health and safety is not only important for staff, but also yields greater efficiency and better results for employers as well.rnExperts from the Health and Safety Executive; First Milk; Aria; Dairy Crest; Robert Wiseman Dairies and NFU Mutual insurance addressed a range of detailed issues during the day.rnFrom the farm, through to road transport, manual handling, occupational health and insurance premiums, there was plenty of practical advice.rnThe seminar was run by Dairy UK's Occupational Health and Safety Committee and chaired by Chris King of First Milk.
