First Sergeant Wade Scott walked through the building in a state of fascination and admiration at what he saw on display at the Legion of Valor Veterans Memorial Museum. Sgt. Scott, who recently returned home after recovering from wounds received in Afghanistan, marveled at the variety and historical perspective of what he was seeing before him. In Fresno, the heart of California, a beautiful art deco building houses the museum. Situated in the downtown area, just across the street from Fresno's historical water tower, this military museum is believed to be the largest of its kind west of the Mississippi with mbre military artifacts than the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., and with displays ranging in time from the country's founding up to the current conflicts in Iraa and Afghanistan.
