NB: The entire BMP-1 and BMP-2 fleets are being progressively upgraded to the BMP-2M configuration (BEREZHOK turret). The TPz-1 FUCHS 2 has been selected as the new standard wheeled APC, and local licence production of a total of 980 (potentially up to 1,200) vehicles over a 10-year period is being organised. An agreement has been signed covering licence production of the Tawazun NIMR protected carrier. Unconfirmed reports indicate that a contract has been signed or is being negotiated for up to 300 BMPT-72 TERMINATOR AFVs. MRAP protected carriers are being delivered (numbers unknown).
