'Future' Soldier Systems

Despite obvious and growing financial limitations on defence procurement, funding for soldier modernisation in the round has been cut but not as much as in others areas, with the case for investment being made and rather than being cancelled, in many cases it has been postponed. In parallel to this, changes in technology are seeing much greater investment in much cheaper, reduced weight and bulk; meaning "light" system comprising a radio and small computers led by the US NETT WARRIOR rather than larger LAND WARRIOR type "advanced" systems, although countries such as France, Germany, Italy, and Singapore are either fielding or close to fielding such complex systems.
