With Malaysia's current fiscal situation and the depreciation of the Ringgit, little development in the Malaysian defence industry is expected in the near term given the financial situation. Should Malaysia proceed with future procurement, foreign companies will play a key part, given the Malaysian defence industries lack of indigenous home grown products and/or expertise.
