Dr. Paul J. Nicholas is an operations research scientist at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Maryland. His research focuses on the application of advanced analytics, including combinatorial optimization and game theory, to problems in national security. A Marine veteran with several deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, Paul is a member of the MORS Board of Directors and is a former MIT Seminar XXI fellow. He received his PhD from George Mason University, where he teaches a graduate course on analytics and decision analysis.
