ONTOLOGY STRUCTURES FOR MODELING IRREGULAR WARFARE

In 2010, the US Army TRAC asked for a metric ontology of irregular warfare (IW). Dean Hartley led the team that developed the ontology. TRAC used that ontology to determine gaps in their existing model and modified the model improvement plan. TRAC also used the ontology to examine links between the Lines of Effort (LOEs) and the metric elements. Subsequently, Hartley expanded the ontology into a total ontology of irregular warfare and used it to improve his DIME/PMESII VV&A Tool.
