Design Features. Unconventional all-swept mid-wing design except for straight-wing trailing edge. Airfoil is fitted with winglets and full-span leading edge slats that permit flight at angles of attack up to 35 degrees. Fly-by-wire system can be reprogrammed to replicate the in-flight characteristics of various combat aircraft in the Russian Air Force's inventory. Production-standard Yak-130s incorporate a 5 percent longitudinal instability to duplicate the handling characteristics of the MiG-29 and Su-27 aircraft types. Design limit load factor is +8g and -3g.
