China-based Nanshan America plans to invest nearly $100 nmillion in a new aluminum extrusion facility in Lafayette, nIndiana, in what would be its first manufacturing operation nin the US, according to a company statement and a nspokeswoman for the Indiana Economic Development Corp. nConstruction is scheduled to begin later this year on a facility nto produce aluminum industrial components for customers nin the commercial, transportation, automotive and industrial nmachinery industries, spokeswoman Blair West said last week nin an interview. The manufacturing plant is expected to be nin production in the spring of 2012, she said. West said the nstate has agreed to provide up to $1.3 million in performance-nbased state income tax credits over 10 years to Nanshan, nbased on the company’s job-creation plans. “The company nsays it expects 200 jobs over the next two years,” she said.
