摘要

Statistical Process Control is an effective tool for learning the accuracy of nearly any manufacturing process, but time is the enemy. Statistical confidence requires a large data sample. Gathering this data can be an impediment to production, particulary when machine operators are asked to double as on-the-spot inspectors, measuring the accuracy of parts already cut instead of cutting more parts. As a result, many machine shops are searching for a means of measuring the accuracy of an NC machine tool before cutting parts, instead of inferring it from parts already machined.
