The U.S. surface finishing industry has lost a dear friend and a staunch advocate, with the recent passing of Simon "Si" P. Gary, former owner and president of Scientific Control Laboratories, Chicago, 111. Simon P. Gary's 50-plus years of service to the industry was a living example of the man who, when given a job, gets the job done. Through his years of experience in the job shop business and his background in the consulting field, he built a reputation as one of the most knowledgeable people in electroplating in the country.
