On the optimal design of aluminum space frame structures

摘要

In this paper, some general considerations together with qualitative estimations on the application field of alumi- nium space frame structures are presented, as a sound alternative to traditional structures for the design of large span roofs. The study of this widespread structural system with its Peculiar characteristics enables us to focus on some basic Concepts, which can provide optimised design combined With high overall safety levels.
