The April 12 auction of Kremikovtzi's production assets has opened up a new chapter in the long saga of the Bulgarian steelmaker and potentially spells a bighterfuture for the plant.rnAfter more than three years of difficulties that eventually resulted in the shutdown of all Kremikovtzi's steelmaking operations in May 2010, and followingthe plant's entrance into administration with debts exceeding €1 billion ($1.48 billion), a previously unknown company has acquired the mill's production assets and infrastructure.
