Absorbent article with improved softness

An absorbent article with improved softness, but without undesirably decreased strength, is disclosed in US Patent 8 841 507 by Procter & Gamble. According to the company of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, the backsheet (20) is impervious to liquids (e.g. urine), and comprises a laminate of a nonwoven (21) and a thin polymeric film (23), with the latter having a thickness of 0.012-0.051 mm. Suitable backsheet films include those manufactured by Tredegar Industries and sold under the trade names X15306, X10962 and X10964.
