Absorbent article with reduced leakage

An absorbent article that addresses the problem of maintaining the difference between the dry flexural rigidity and wet flexural rigidity at a bonding part (e.g. between the topsheet and absorbent body) has been developed by Unicharm of Tokyo, Japan. Described in US Patent 9 492 333, a disposable hygiene article such as a sanitary napkin features an absorbent body that contains a cellulose-based water-absorbing fibre and a thermoplastic resin fibre. The difference between the dry Gurley stiffness and wet Gurley stiffness of the compressed part is maintained at 2.5 mN per 12.5 mm or lower.
