During a presentation at last month's National Chicken Council's Chicken Marketing Seminar, Mike Ledford, a purchasing director for KFC and Yum! Brands' other four food chains, told attendees that the supply-chain company for the network spends $1 billion to buy approximately 1 billion lbs. of chicken each year to supply its stores. Of that, $800 million is spent to keep its KFC stores in chicken.
