摘要

Green samples of Ce-Y-ZrO_2 ceramics were sintered to 99.5/100 TD in multimode cavity with 2.45 GHz radiation. A smaller and uniform grain structure was developed in micrwoave sintered samples compared to that by conventionally sintering due to enhanced densification and short sintering time. Microwave sintering produced higher flexural strength (1195 MPa) and fracture toughness (13.7 MPa m~1/2). And more of the zirconia tetragonal phase was obtained on examining the polised surfaces of the microwave-sintered samples.
