摘要

A new phosphor of Eu~2+ -doped Cs_2MgSi_5O_12 was synthesized by conventional solid-state reaction. The phase formation was confirmed by X-ray powder diffraction measurements. The photoluminescence excitation and emission spectra were measured. The phosphor presents bright yellowish-green-emitting luminescence. The site-occupancy of Eu~2+- ions doped in Cs_2MgSi_5O_12 was discussed according to the crystal structure and the luminescence characteristics of Eu~2+ ions. Two different Eu~2+ centers were assigned in Cs_2MgSi_5O_12 lattices. The dependence of luminescence intensity on the heating temperatures was measured and discussed. The chromaticity coordinates and activation energy (△E) for the thermal quenching of Cs_2MgSi_5O_12:Eu~2+ were reported.
