Microwave absorption properties of Ag3PO4 nanoparticles-modified NI@C nanocapsules

Ag3PO4 nanoparticles-modified Ni@C nanocapsules were prepared by the arc discharge and the iron exchange methods. The microwave absorbing properties of nanocapsules were evaluated in the 218 GHz range. An optimal reflection loss value of -37.1 dB was observed at 12 GHz on the nanocapsules-paraffin composites with a thickness of 2.7 mm. Compared with Ni@C nanocapsules, Ni@C/Ag3PO4 nanocapsules exhibited the enhanced microwave absorbing abilities with broad frequency bandwidth at thin absorber thickness. Ag3PO4 nanoparticles could increase permittivity values and induce the strong dielectric resonance, which lead to the excellent microwave absorbing performance of Ni@C/Ag3PO4 nanocapsules.
