Stabilization behaviors of high-pressure epsilon-phase by high-pressure torsion process in the Fe-Mn alloys having different stacking fault energies (i.e., gamma-phase stabilities) were investigated. Stabilization of highpressure s-phase at ambient condition after the HPT process was observed regardless of sample composition. It was found that the HPT process could stabilize epsilon-phase in the composition with high gamma-phase stability. Volume fraction of stabilized epsilon-phase increased with increasing applied hydrostatic pressure. The formed epsilon-phase reverse transformed to gamma-phase at the temperature between 473 and 623 K. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
