Acknowledging 2013 Marketing Science Contributions

In conducting its review process and in implementing major initiatives, Marketing Science benefits from outstanding contributions from many scholars. In this article, I would like to thankfully acknowledge notable contributions made to Marketing Science during 2013. A major initiative launched in 2013 was the special issue on Big Data that is intended to attract papers building on recent advances in computer science and statistics to improve marketing research and practice in data-rich environments. I thank the three coeditors of the issue-Pradeep Chintagunta, John Hauser, and Dominique Hanssens-as well as their team of associate editors for all their work in managing the review process for the special issue. I am also happy to note that work on the special section based on the Marketing Science Emerging Markets Conference is progressing well, and the special section based on the Theory and Practice in Marketing Conference was published in the January-February 2014 issue. Our advisory board members-Pradeep Chintagunta, Dominique Hanssens, John Hauser, Jagmohan Raju, Kanna Srinivasa, and Richard Staelin-continued to provide valuable advice and support in developing ideas for new initiatives and managing existing ones.
