POSIDONIA 2006: New venue for international shipbuilding exhibition

This year's edition of Posidonia, one of the world's most prestigious international shipping exhibitions, will be held at a new and bigger venue. For the first time the biennial event, which attracted over 1,600 Greek and international exhibitors in 2004, will be held at the Hellenikon Exhibition Centre (HEC). The upcoming event, which takes place from June 5 until June 9 is expected to be the biggest in its 37-year-long history. Exhibitors from over seventy countries have already confirmed their participation at Posidonia 2006. "The global shipping community's strong interest in Posidonia is linked to the renewal programme of the Greek shipping industry, which is implementing an investment strategy aimed at decreasing the average age of its fleet standing today at 15.3 years," said Nana Michael, managing director of Posidonia Exhibitions. "There are currently 364 ships on order for Greek companies," she added.
