Major contract for Doedijns

Netherlands-based Doedijns, a part of power, motion and control solutions specialist DGI, has received an order from SBM Offshore Malaysia to deliver a major part of the Rig-Less Intervention System (RIS) for the BC-10 FPSO production facility, comprising the complete hydraulic drive and control system plus the skidding system for the RIS. Shell's BC-10 development in the Campos Basin offshore Brazil implemented a new method of subsea-separation and boosting which uses vertical caisson separators with Electrical Submersible Pumps (ESPs). If these pumps failed, the existing solution was to call in a conventional drilling rig to perform the intervention operation. The RIS, placed portside aft of the FPSO, facilitates replacement of worn or failed caisson based artificial lift systems deployed in the BC-10 field. The entire ESP/Caisson assembly will be recovered to the surface and landed out in an intervention facility.
