Groot Ship Design is currently involved in several serious projects where LNG is used as a clean fuel in short sea shipping vessels as well as dry cargo vessels and tankers. The company assists owners and shipyards in making the right choice for the best possible fuel for the future. Both the economical and the technical aspects complicate this choice. It is almost impossible for the industry to predict a reliable price level for LNG for the next two to three years from today. The cryogen LNG tanks to be used are heavy and consume a lot of volume otherwise to be used as valuable cargo space.
