Congress tackles rising shipbuilding costs

Congress is trying to do something about the bloated cost of Navy shipbuilding for Fiscal Year 2008. Tucked away in the conference report accompanying H.R. 1585, the National Defense Authorization Act, are a number of requirements aimed at finding out what's wrong and what can be done about it.
