At, 1,300m water depth, the Jubarte Field off the coast of Espirito Santo, Brazil, is one of the deepest oil fields in the world. Last month, Brazil's Petrobras took a major step towards the second phase of development of the field when it christened the Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) P-57 at the BrasFELS shipyard in Angra dos Reis, Brazil.What's notable about the P-57 is that it could serve as a model for future Brazilian pre-salt development. Petrobras says it is a new generation of platform, conceived and assembled based on the engineering concept that favors project streamlining and equipment standardization.
