It could be a possibility, although not in the near future, under a plan proposed last month by President Obama.rnThe Obama Administration took a major step towards creating a national energy policy when, last month, President Obama, accompanied by U.S. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar announced plans to expand oil and gas production and development on the U.S. Outer Continental Shelf (OCS), and particularly off of the U.S. East Coast and in the Eastern Gulf of Mexico, some 125 miles off the coast of Florida.
