Jones act shipyards filling up with product tankers

If you are an operator looking to build a Jones Act tanker or container-ship you'd better think fast. That's because the slots at available shipyards are filling up. The latest announcement comes from General Dynamics NASSCO, San Diego, CA, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (GD), which inked a deal with Seabulk Tankers, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of SEACOR Holdings Inc. (CKH), for the design and construction of two 50,000 deadweight ton LNG-conversion-ready product carriers each with a 330,000 barrel cargo capacity.
