Overloaded propeller gets a trim

In order to re-establish optimum hydrodynamic efficiency to a heavy running propeller, the on-site ship repair company, Hydrex, was recently hired to modify all four blades of the propeller fitted to a 195m bulk carrier during its stay in Amsterdam. Due to a gradual deterioration in engine performance the propeller was no longer operating at the correct pitch and the engine was going into overload, having inadequate power to achieve the needed rev/min.
