A self-sustaininq fire?

Sir, In the article on page 44 of the October 2007 issue of MER (Troublespot, Maersk Doha EGE fire), the section titled 'Soot and hydrogen fires' is somewhat misleading. The 3rd paragraph of that section suggests that if you heat water to 1000℃, it dissociates into hydrogen and oxygen which then recombine as a hydrogen fire. This fire is apparently self-sustaining.
